HKDC Design Market @ K11

Another highly recommended market I went to last week was the Design Market organized by the Hong Kong Design Centre at K11. Thanks to my mum who somehow found out about this on Time Out's Facebook group, I've bought a fair share of accessories that I constantly wear almost everyday.

This market is a heaven for those who love handcrafted accessories and original clothes. Like Island East Markets, the HKDC promotes local upcoming brands by opening up a platform so that shoppers can easily go around learning about these underground labels. Many of these stalls feature exciting concepts that I've never seen outside this market. One of my favourite concepts include a resin made lampshade that looks like glass but feels like plastic. With the light inside the lampshade, the walls are projected with colourful patterns that resemble Murano glass but at a much cheaper price. I also managed to pick up a trench coat designed by a local brand and several accessories for myself (the jacket which I will later post as a look on my Lookbook).  I can honestly say that this is one of the best markets that I've ever been to yet a part of me just wants to slap the management for not making it permanent. -sigh- When the time comes, I'll make sure you'll be the first to know!
