HK Street Style

I've always thought HK street style was worth noticing with all the Japanese/Korean influences we get. However, if you want to find real style, you'll have to head towards the island side to satisfy your sartorial needs. Saturday was the first day, out of many dreary days of rain, with clear skies and a sun above my head. Luckily, I met up with street style blogger Jin from Remedy Rouge/HK Girl Talk to take lookbook pics and snap stylish people around town. With our handy 50mm lens, we set out around Central and Sheung Wan and found spots with ample lighting and great vantage points.

The area around LKF had great lighting and a slightly sloped gradient which was perfect for photo taking. Along the way up to Hollywood Road, I found a stylish looking guy hanging outside a store where his friend worked. Wearing an all black ensemble, his grey Supreme beanie and multicoloured sneakers looked perfect together as the "uniform" for creative city types. On the steps were two employees of a store casually chatting and smoking a cig during their break. A flash of their pink highlights looked amazing under their black uniforms. I thought that was it for the day until I found another guy who had these really cool pants paired with a monogramed canvas clutch.

Of course, I wasn't one to miss out on the fun either. I have to say it's one of my favourite looks because it definitely sums up my daring sense of style. Using the same formula as the guy I took a photo of, I paired a printed t-shirt from Zara with an all black ensemble to emphasise the print even more. I went further still with the styling with my mom's handbag chain repurposed as a necklace. Though my mum thinks I'm crazy, I always say that if you have the courage to wear it, never settle for less and go all the way.

    1. Haha it's super awkward when you approach them and tell them what you're doing
Especially when you're not exactly sure of what to say lol
