FASHION | Swarovski Spring 2014 Preview

I've always loved bold statement pieces whether it be a sequinned dress or a maximalist piece of accessory. Come Spring 2014, Swarovski has unveiled a collection that is filled with enviable pieces fit for any wardrobe. See that necklace above? Case in point.

From tribal influences to the excessive glamour of streetstyle, Swarovski sets out to redefine the typical notion of accessory design with an added element of art. “In colors, silhouettes, materials, and textures, art has always been a source of inspiration for designers, creators of fashion,” says Nathalie Colin, Creative Director at Swarovski.
Expressionistic qualities come to light with the precise technique of pavé and Pointiage being used in the collection. The CHIC ring and AMAZING necklace above (terribly original names I know...) are two of my favourites with it's style flexible enough for both day and night. The hues of blue rendered in little dots go perfectly with denim or a plain top for the inner artist in everyone.
Primal elements also make an appearance in yellow gold, silver plated metals, wood, leather and cord in their "Tribal Glam" series. Rich colours exemplify the accessories' visual aesthetic through the use of natural pigments and careful arrangement. Mixing traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, Swarovski has unveiled a highly desirable collection (especially their statement necklaces) that I'm sure Anna Dello Russo would approve of.
