Street Style Saturday's | The Unorthodox Suit

I have to admit. Rarely do I ever see asian men pulling off double blazer jackets. The reason? We're just too damn skinny. By chance, I came across this young gentleman watching over his store at the FF Flea Market outside Rat's Cave...
It was only when he stood up that I noticed it was perfectly tailored to his body (if only more people did that nowadays). What I didn't realise was that the second row of buttons were designed in such a way that it appeared to cut through the fabric so the panel underneath could slide through a "slit". Of course, it was only a tab made to fool naïve amateurs like me.

Looking downwards, the suit had a matching pair of shorts in the same fabric, lending a modern interpretation towards traditional menswear. On that note, he even styled it with a pair of white Puma trainers to inject an element of sportswear into his outfit. I asked him why he and his friends were all in suits; to which he replied, "Everyday can be a suit day!" I guess it's just a matter of how you 'tailor' it to your daily routine... See what I did there...? Oh, never mind.

    1. Yes, indeed!

HK has its hidden gems when it comes to the arts... Tai Ping Shan Street in Sheung Wan is a favourite of mine while the harder to reach places like Chai Wan and Sai Ying Pun are definitely worth checking out!

Thanks for checking out Cut & Copy!
